Bmw E46 330I Touring

I know it's not a Peugeot but hey!

Bought a e46 330i about 2 weeks ago, 110k in the clock for a good price.

Pretty impressed with quality, there are a few things that need doing but nothing major.

I've changed the plugs and next up is an oil change and vanos seal service and rattle rings change.

I'll get a 330i auto diff in the future as it's better gearing over standard

I had a 330d for a couple of years and really liked it. Nicely put together cars, even compared to the audi I had before.

Did the vanos seals today, pretty easy to do. These are nice cars to work on

Nice!

What I like about these cars is they are designed so well even for working on!

Dunno, I remember needing a 4 foot long extension on my ratchet to change a wishbone! :P

You're worrying me now

Going to get m-sport wishbones to get rid of the s*itty rubber bushe surrounding the bottom ball joint

M3 billet uj coupling as well

And some stiffer possibly lowering springs

Whats the difference with m-sport wishbones then?

Mine was a sport, pre m-sport (from memory). I fitted meyle HD wishbones, was pretty happy with them, I do remember reading the sports/m-sports had different geo than base models but payed little attention otherwise....

From what I've read the sports suspension comes with a normal ball joint (all metal) . Base model comes with a bottom ball joint encased in a rubber bushe

I think the rear bush gives different geometry too.

Yep, wishbones and geometry different between non-sports and sports/MSports (same). A Coupe has sport suspension regardless of spec unless you ask for SE setup. Not 100% sure but the 330ZHP available in the States is different again taking the Sport/MSport suspension further.

I've just priced up all the bushings for my Coupe including link bars, wishbones and subframe bushes using Lemforder/MeyleHD.....£580.

Mine is Msport, I'm glad I don't sit in the back. But I can take roundabouts nicely without it wallowing like a boat.

The older MSport suspension is more compliant than newer.

had a 330d msport a few years back and that stupid bushing in the steering joint was the cause of my woolly wandering steering that everyone told me was the tracking!

not bad car but the replacement 335d is a world better..

enjoy
