Hi, I need to source the following items for my 205 gti6/s16 but don't actually know what to ask for .

Does anyone know of a reputable dealer or parts supplier as the muppets at my local peugeot dealer are being as helpful as a pair of lead shoes on a ballet dancer!!!

I need at least this little lot to start with.

Clutch kit

Flywheel bolts

Rear main oil seal

Cambelt kit

Waterpump

Crankshaft seal

Oil

Oil filter

cheers

Liam

youll find most of that either online or at your local motorfactor.

flywheel bolts you'll get easily from a dealer, sign up to servicebox for the part numbers and give your parts muppets them.

dont forget you can use citroen for most parts too.

firstly though you do need to work out exactly what you have on the engine, take the belt covers off and check what tensioners it has, the iron block water pumps are the same I believe, all the oil seals are the same too.

take a picture of the clutch arm, see if its a pull or a push clutch, as it could be a 1.9 push clutch, or a 2.0 pull clutch.

Cheers Meirion , I take it you mean a picture of the box from the outside ??

I'll sign up for this service box thing and see what I can find, thank you.

Clutch setup and diff is different between Mi and S16 gearbox. Ratios are very similar if not the same though.

Usually, most people convert later gearboxes like S16 and VTS over to a push type clutch setup as found on 205s and 1.9 Mi's.

So for arguments sake , could I whack a 205gti 1.6 box on.it so I at least know for sure what's on it??

Box makes no odds to clutch, only the release bearing if BE1 or 3, Best to convert to the BE3 as on the 205/405 Ph1 as it's easy and parts off the shelf, Cambelt could be anything with the spec of your engine so it's as WP said, whip covers off and check, 134 tooth belt is S16 or 136 or 137 are the R type engines

Cool , so all the boxes are interchangeable then??

This is my arm , what sort of box is it??

I think it is a be3 as the reverse is to the right and back , don't need to lift it up.

It's not where it says it is on the gearstick anyway . lol! !!!

There are no covers so I will have to mark the cambelt and physically count the teeth on it! !

Cheers

it is a BE3 box, but has a different style of clutch cover/pressure plate and integrated release bearing, along with a matching clutch arm and cable bracket.

the clutch fork pulls the pressure plate away from the friction plate directly, rather than relying on a pivot and pushing the centre towards the engine.

Ah so is that more efficient then or just a different design?

Something strange happened tonight, the chap contacted me out of the blue tonight asking to buy it back.

Why would you do that unless it's better than you thought it was when you sold it????
