been a while since ive updated this lol going to be a big update

the steering rack was being a bit harder to get out than i had origionally hoped so i decided the best way to fix the rack was to drop the subframe so...

track rod off

15nkfmq.jpg

and the other side

2uqyskj.jpg

then the steering column

nnuni0.jpg

that was all i could do that day as i started late lol, how i left it

2zz24b6.jpg

next day

2e4b4hi.jpg

all bolts undone that hold the subframe on and lowered it down with a jack

zvye6t.jpg

and out

2hmfryr.jpg

why the steering rack needed fixing lol o wonder it wouldn't turn :doublesho

316kccm.jpg

so removed that

so with that done i moved on to some other little jobs first of all i decided

the ignition amp plate could do with shining up

here it was before

2cr0twn.jpg

2vl8zeg.jpg

its a little shiny but it was very pitted in places

so sanded with 180 wet and dry then gradually moved on to 2000 wet and dry which left it looking like this

2hdyvt5.jpg

first polish

2hzhn9j.jpg

2ecpt81.jpg

and a few more later

k2hf1u.jpg

buffed off

2mo2dmc.jpg

x3wx06.jpg

wrkmea.jpg

and fitted

2ld7hc6.jpg

not a very good picture but it ads a bit of shine to the engine bay :D

then i thought id re painted the rocker cover as it had gotten all scratched up

since last time i painted it so this time round it has been lackered :D

1z51c8y.jpg

and back together

2w4h82f.jpg

2dbuxqb.jpg

then i painted the front of the engine bay again as the lacker i used last time was crap and it had all cracked up :(

znrlkw.jpg

5zlboj.jpg

21ezrpz.jpg

also got the power steering bracket off and sanded it down ready for painting then i thought why not polish it so sanded the bare metal again with 2000 wet and dry then used Autoglym metal polish which gave me this result

pn2py.jpg

still needs some work but better than before :D

whilst cleaning bits i decided to check weather the spark plugs were flooded with petrol again (which they were) and i came to the last plug and it looked like this

2ilihk6.jpg

all seems fine

2h3buwi.jpg

ah thats not good

and thats a brand new spark plug :doublesho

so fitted one of the old Bosch plugs

2j1u8sh.jpg

still have no idea why it did that, all the new plugs now have cracks down them :(

panel off

2zeyqs4.jpg

and repainted and clipped back on

rk6eqq.jpg

much better :D

in the boot there was some surface rust there water had been leaking into it so i sanded down the rust and treated it with Kurust then red oxide primer was applied and then painted up with the original alpine white sorry no before pics but

r9okjl.jpg

14bovms.jpg

now just got to sort the leak out :D

this car is EVIL

f0vqtj.jpg

and then a bit more polishing :D
