That's the kind of attention to detail we've come to expect from you but I particularly like the way you've routed the main power cable and other bits and bobs along the front, it looks simple but you've obviously put a lot of time and effort into that.

Looks excellent as usual Tas :)

The only thing that I would say is that where you've routed the sensor wiring loom through the bulkhead in the standard place is going to be perilously close to the GTi-6 exhaust manifold and liable to suffer heat damage as a result, even with all that heat wrap on the manifold.

What I did is to blank off that hole and instead route the loom through underneath the expansion tank well away from the exhaust.

I was thinking that too, I might end up moving the loom to where you said it will be a lot neater too but its just a long process to sit there and lengthen every wire... On the plus side I guess I can make every wire the exact length I need it to be, there is ample space in the lower grommet under the header tank too for them. hmm

If I was to leave as is I was planning on using the same heat barrier wrap I have placed over the heater matrix pipes and use P Clips to hold the loom as far from the manifold as possible. Do you think if I double wrapped the loom in that heat barrier wrap it might tolerate the heat??

If I don't move the loom now I will definitely do it on a later date tho ;)

Nice to see this build thread as I remember Dino posting some pics of it during the 8v days and it looked absolutely mint. I remember being so disappointed when Dino stopped feeding updates on here. Looks like your standards haven't slipped since :)

Just to echo this, as it's exactly what I was going to post :).

P.S. Resize your photos prior to uploading them.

In this pic you can see the solid rear mount is sitting slightly off centre but on the other side its sitting dead centre on the chassis runner, i got these from constella and tbh i was expecting the square type alloy mounts but instead they sent me these round things lol.. they do have the offset studs too. No matter what i tried this was the most central i could get this side, do you guys think this is anything to be concerned about as its only off by a few mm where it rests of the chassis runner.

Have decided not to use the re-angled standard gti6 exhaust manifold, as i bought a maniflow 2.25" stainless steel 4-2-1 manifold today.

The ceramic based painted titanium heat wrapped re-angled gti6 manifold is now up for sale including the downpipe which has also been painted with ceramic based paint, also have an OE fitting kit to go with.

It's almost finished now but still a few more final touches to go before i fire her up.

The paint i used on the engine was V.H.T. Engine Enamel

I do still have the re-angled Gti-6 manifold, downpipe, fitting kit,

pm me if interested

Really like the red carbon dipped tanks. Such a good idea for a fresh and tidy engine bay.
