Autocar Magazine Feature - 205 Gti

Recommended Posts

rjbwebber

Hi there

I'm a freelance journalist working for Autocar, and am currently working on a three-page buying guide for the magazine on 205 GTis. The guides are usually on newer stuff, so this is a bit of a departure and should be an interesting one.

I need some help finding an expert on 205 GTis to interview for the piece some time next week. Just GTis has moved away from the model and I've called/emailed Auto Five, but without response so far.

The source needs to be a specialist who can quote prices for parts and general maintenance, and discuss the issues that tend to arise with these cars and what to look out for on used examples. A feel for the current market for GTis would be handy too, but not essential.

Striking distance from London would be ideal, but a phone interview is a possibility too.

Suggestions welcome...

Thanks

Richard

you should also have a word with matt jobling at pug1off and rob walton at constella.

both have years of experience with 205 gtis from tuning parts and modifying. :)

as indeed does miles horne of pugracing.

in addition to that there are many very experienced enthusiasts on this very forum who have experience and a vast knowledge of 205 gti's!

Richard if your going to do another buyers guide 'yawn' could you at least mention the 1.6 because we enthusiasts dont really regard it as a lesser model just a different flavour.

Thanks for the suggestions - much appreciated. And yep, I'll be sure to give the 1.6 appropriate kudos.

Cheers

Richard

For reference, the buying guide appears in this week's Autocar, 28th March issue.
