These just bolt straight on to the tu3s engine yes?

Do I need to touch the driveshaft seal like on some of the other boxes?

They look differnet from what I can remember.

The starter is round the back on the 106.

It is on the TU 205's too! The box should fit straight on without any problems.

A few people have told me it fits but just wanted to confirm 100%

Given up trying to find an XS box and going for a rallye one but they are about 5x the price.

The later (After 1992) boxes are uprated internally and the casing is slightly stronger than the XS boxes so should last better. Saying that, compared to other boxes they still seem to be made of chocolate!

That's part of the reason I've just forked out £135 for one!

I remember reading something about setting the oil seal a bit further forward but wasnt sure if it was relevant on this box.

You should be ok. One of mine has a 106 box on and the seal looks the same. Be sure to change it.

Have you considered changing just the Diff? The 106 box is even shorter then the XS...But you know that

£135 is a very good price for a Rallye box!

I'd love to know if there are any more going!

You'll need to set the passenger side oil seal about 2mm proud of the housing if you are using the 309 TCA's, otherwise you'll have a cat piss smelling puddle under the car :)

I'm gonna be using the short 309 driveshaft (as otherwise it can pull out of the box?) but the long one I was told will be fine as its bolted in place? :)

I bet you wish you bought the rebuilt XS box that i had forsale now dont you. It had only done 20,000 miles since a complete rebuild and i was asking £50 for it. No one wanted it so i got £10 down the local recycling place for it

Yep, thats right, thats why only the passenger side seal needs to be slightly proud

It was the fact the shifters had been drilled out that put me off, plus I didn't need a box then!

To fit 106 rallye box into a 205 you need to use 205 XS type long drive shaft as normal. The short shaft needs a 106 rallye inner put onto a normal 205 shart & outer. You can get away with using a normal 205 XS type of shaft but the shaft will be 10mm further out of the box (making oil leak) and also puts too much strain on the diff & shaft as 10mm longer.

Well as I'm using 309 TCAs could I get away without using the 309 shafts as these are about 10mm longer to stop the shaft being pulled out of the box?

I've been told to not sit the oil seal all the way in as this will stop the oil leak.
