What Have I Done..

my 1.1 look developed a misfire last month - nothing major just running on 3 until it warmed up, then all the time, I swapped the dizzp cap coz that looked a bit mullered but no change and actually got worse so last week i swapped the HT leads, plugs and rotor arm - and now it wont fire at all!

It just turns over and over with no sign of starting and fires flames out the carb  which would indicate timing?? but the leads are on the right way (1-3-4-2 anti-clockwise) ive swapped a new coil onto it today and same thing

any ideas where else to check please? :( my only other car sounds like its dropped a bag of bolts in there now too so i need to get this one working to get to work

The only other thing to check would be the ignition module. And just make doubly sure that the leads are on the right way around

you could try getting a spark tester or taking the spark plug out and arch it off to see if there is a spark, you could also try cleaning up the parts where the leads go onto the distributer.

If there is a spark there is a spark then it could be a fuel or carb problem.

sounds like it might be overfueling? also worth checking the quality of the leads in case the some sparks are escaping across the head randomly lol

if its sparking then its time to check the cam driven fuel pump.

timing is worth a check, but seeing as its been a progresssive issue i dont *think* thats going to be the problem.

I'v allready solved the problem, Kate's positioned the leads as if No1 is at the pulley end of the engine, not as it should be at the flywheel end
