1977 chev vega. Going to try and build a kind of group 4 rally car. Think mark 2 escort. Or a manta/ascena.13458791_10154195342665505_7275853404787613950_o.thumb.jpg.c6fda652fd2e498204fbd196d40a061c.jpg

Although it now looks like this, due to it being stupid rusty!20190603_231453.thumb.jpg.638fad88fbee69795d2b8edf3847ae1e.jpg

Interesting car indeed, do you have a cosworth engine to fit inside?

Unfortunately not. It came with a terribly fitted 3.8 Buick V6. But that wont be going back in. Will either get a chev V8 or a ford duratec or a dodge 2.4 turbo or who knows what. See what turns up once all the rust is cut out.

Bought this a couple weeks ago, s2 rallye 16v, been stripped out for track going to put an interior back in it, sort the ride height, get rid of the awful wing mirrors/fuel cap/splitter, find some fog inserts rather than the lights, eventually get the bonnet/bumper 'rebadged', new sticker set, I have a nice set of compomotive th's to get refurbed for it and just enjoy it B)

Wanted one for ages, I’ve been riding round in a 535d touring for the past 8 years. 40th birthday in a couple of weeks so decided to treat myself.
The bloody thing didn’t even get me home without crapping out, so day 2 of M5 ownership was spent underneath it with the spanners. Hopefully a minor glitch that will soon be forgotten. Wanted to burn it Friday night!

You will not be disappointed. A mate of mine has one, an awesome machine and the performance is very accessible in normal use.

Added ~300 horses to my stable...

Got a low miler, rust free car offered by a colleague, who bought it new and did significant mods to it....

Couldn't say no...

Picked up this surprisingly rust free ph1 dturbo the other day which will become the new daily after some tinkering!

She's got some nice period mods - venoms, 3 leg spoiler, skirts etc. Will be going back to original with a set of silver cyclones I think. :)

If you haven't already, check behind the interior trim on the nearside rear quarter where the seat belt mounts - early 306's (and most estates) didn't have an arch liner on this corner, and plenty (most?) have significant rust around the seat belt mount, often to the point that the seat belt comes adrift from the panel with little more than a sharp tug, let alone with the forces involved in an accident.  Because it looks fine from the outside until it's completely rotted through, it's rarely spotted by an MOT tester or a casual inspection.

If it is rust free even there, find someone breaking a Ph3 hatch and nab the arch liner for yours to keep it that way!

@Anthony cheers, that was actually one of the first things I checked when looking at the car for the first time and was surprised to find someone has fitted arch liners in it! :D

Interesting as I had an estate a few years ago. Very tidy, no rot, apart from no seatbelt mount left when I was looking in the NS arch for a totally unrelated job!

My evo 9 gt, I imported it myself a few years ago now, actually bidded for it on Xmas evening which was a nice gift to my self.

I try and use it to its full potential, I use it daily to and from work, axles in the boot for the powdercoating runs, and local trailer trips. I seem to average 12k a year in it. :D

What’s the towing capacity of an evo9? :D

This sounds a bit weird for an Evo9 imho...  Think it is more capable than that.

Just scored this 1974 Ford Econoline in LA - currently sat at the docks awaiting boxing up for the journey over..

Two owners, sliding side door (my preference over barndoors), 30k miles, 302 V8 auto with factory PAS and PAB - a rare combo.  Zero rust (ignoring the patina!)

My Econoline has had a bit of a makeover this past year.  Interior revamp underway but exterior now looking much better; chrome grille, NOS mirrors, sidepipes, slot mags, original paint cut and polished, etc:

Also it was my birthday this week so treated myself to this, the UK's oldest Mk1, left in a barn in 1982 with one owner and less then 17k miles.

Always wanted a modified preflow in this colour, but haven't found one in years of looking so thought I'd enjoy this in the meantime.  Bought it off the guy who had it nut and bolt restored underneath, but kept the patina outside (including ageing any fresh paint) and the original interior just got a clean.

Picked this up earlier in the year, terrible Facebook advert with no pics, price etc just a phone number, got in touch with the chap selling it and ended up sending a deposit straight away and got the car worryingly cheap.

I've always wanted a classic 911 - before I was even into cars my grandmother got me a model clock by 'WM Widdop' which was what first got me into them, after that my old man had a 996 which was nice, then started looking into RWB, Singers etc and I was hooked.

Screenshot_20231101_121844_Snapchat.thumb.jpg.aa3833236be319f76fefb71c9339e05d.jpg

Never thought I'd get one but when he told me the price I couldn't say no.

The car had respray in 2000 and still looks great although the door shuts weren't done and the bumpers could do with a repaint. Behind the n/s headlight may need a small patch when I take a wire wheel to it, the rear 'kidney plate' areas are good, had a good poke about when inspecting it, quite difficult getting my big head in there though. Other than that it just needs a good service!
