Right I'm in the process of putting my 205 back together and properly this time, I no my turbo was getting a bit smokey before I killed the bottom end, now I'm looking what options I have on turbos, seen some people talking about t28 and also t25/t28 hybrid turbos, this is all new to me so help and advice is needed

I see your point that's the plan I have when I go forge pistons and steel rods :)

Ideally your better off going for the GT series as opposed to the older T series. A smaller GT series turbo can spool faster and flow as well or even better than a larger sized T series. Only down side is they're more expensive.

Very dependent on which T28 you take and which manifold you use.

I tried it with GTI-R T28 (larger than most T28's) and a TT manifold and that's a no-go.

Converting the OEM T25 to a T28 should fit easily imho, since the turbo sits lower with that manifold (= further from bulk head)

This maybe a newbie question but what turbo is fitted to these engines as standard? And what bhp do they run out of puff at? Thanks

Would a standard manifold with a 3" pipe straight to the turbo above gearbox work? Then wouldn't matter what turbo then

Better off having proper manifold made if your going to do that. The standerd manifold is well s**t and ristrictive creates loads of pressure between the head and turbo.
