As the title says really. I am just plumbing in me engine and I was wandering if the vac pump was really needed? or is it best to use just the vac pump and blank the inlet manifold?

Does the 205 servo cope ok with the extra vacum of the pump?

I have done several searches but could not find the information that I need.

B)

Thanks

Neil

Hi mate, ive been running mine off the Vacume pump for just over a year now with no problems at all. I have seen people using the manifold and vacume pump through a T-piece originally off the 306 i think? then again ive seen people just use the mani and do away with the vac pump just to save the weight of it,so basically its your decision. I can only speak for my set-up and its been 100%.. HTH..

Hi mate, I'm halfway through my 6 conversion, not quite as far as you but my plans to retain the 306 setup with the t to the inlet manifold, this way you have a saftey line if you think about it .

If you're getting rid of the vacuum pump I sell blanking plates for them

Manifold vacuum is fine if you have standard cams but if planning on bigger cams the vacuum pump is a bonus.

Keep the pump and blank the manifold off, Much better vacume and less likey to run out of vacume with left foot braking (If you use it)

Wow thats a good set of replys thanks guys.

I think I am going to go down the vac pump only route to simplyfi the plumbing as the y piece that came with the engine is broken.

Thanks guys

Neil

Miles - What's the advantage to blocking off the manifold then?

Why do you need it, Pointless running more pipes and joins than you need.

I know there must have been a reason why Pug done this but normally it's one or the other not both,

But I;ve done loads with just the vacume pump connected with no reported issue's
