Thought I'd see if anyone knows here,

I have a 206 1.1 that I've removed the drummed rear beam from and while I'm at and due to a good price I thought I could go for a disc beam from a 206 gti 180...

I've messaged a chap and he measured his to be 1 inch wider at the mounting points and really thought that the 206 chassis range was the same size?

Any thoughts?

itll bolt on fine.

However id sooner rebuild the 1.1 beam than fit a 180 beam.

they're all at the age where its pot luck if the bearing surfaces are any good.

Too true WP. We had a run of 180/RC over here in OZ that wore out the rear trailing arm bearings within 40k.

In saying that, if the beam is the right price I say go for it. Surely a nice upgrade for now. Can you get the front setup to match?

Thanks for the replies chaps. The beam I'm after was rebuilt a few k miles ago and for £120 complete with handbrake cables and calipers etc I thought why not! Got a look out for some front springs or 180 dampers 😉 Just so the 'runaround' looks that bit better!

Don't forget the drum master cylinder pushes more fluid than the disc one so you will need some way of restricting the pressure to the back

Will be keeping the rear brake valve so hopefully that will sort that out :)

The 180 beam has now sold so will a 206 CC beam fit?

So a CC beam will def' fit my 1.1? People can't use a tape measure properly!
