Kms Ignition And Fuel 3d Graphing

Well this may help.

I've knocked together a quick XLS so you can copy the figures from the KMS ECU software and paste them into the XLS sheets to get a same looking graph as you get with other ECUs. Obviously it's only 1 way, i.e. you can't change the graph and the ECU gets updated.

But it will help mappers to spot trends as the do with other ECUs. I'll send it to Steve Greenauld to see what he thonks, as he was annpyed KMS didn't have this feature..

Just use the copy feature when you select the full range:

I have just changed the fueling graph to look more like the emerald version here:

fuelmap.gif

The reason is quoted from the Emerald site "It is clear to see where peak torque is on the engine from the injection map. The large bump on the fuel map is at 6500rpm. This is where cylinder filling is best and therefore is the point of maximum fuelling and maximum torque"

You can see this clearly in my old injection map:

Well Steve Greenald likied it ;)

The interesting thing about these graphs is that if you are playing with trumpet lengths and you have wideband. You can add in more fuel when you see it running lean, and can compare graphs (or %age changes in the values) to see where it's filling the cylinder more. This will visually indicate where in the rev range it has picked up more power.

As I almost have all these tools, can't wait to start playing :)

I got a swift reply from KMS on active 3d graphing:

Hello Sean

We are currently looking for the possibillity to incorporate the 3D graphing without influencing the user-friendlyness

of the software.

best regards

Johan van Grootel
