205 Gti Vts Swap Wiring Doubt

Recommended Posts

Kamel6k

I'm having some problems with the wiring.

The donor car is a 1998 Xsara VTS and the 205 is a phase 1,5 (1988) 1.6.

With a little help of the Xsrara wiring diagram i've made all the wiring with exception of the fuel pump. I can't find it in the diagram nor in the 19 round plug.

So i'm left with this two wires:

Could they be for the fuel pump, or it connects directly to this plug, as it is connected to the inertia switch:

follow the wire from relay to inertia switch then whichever plug it goes to, remove plug and connect to one of the rectangular brown plugs next to steering column :)

Still struggling with some doubts...

The picture above, shows the inertia switch and the plug connect in the same place (brown plug with yellow and white wire). Both go to the bunch of wires bellow the plenum and makes it impossible to track it. Is there any way i can connect the fuel pump to one of this? maybe connect the red and green from the inertia switch directly and then connect the fuel pump to the brown plug (althow there's two wires and only one in the 205 brown plug...)

There's also the white plug with pink pins that i think is from the A/C althout i would apreciate if some of you could confirm it.

This two plugs? I think the blue with the green wire is the oil temp... The other one i don't know, maybe Power steering?

All this wires where connected to the 1.6 ECU, should i shop them?

Whitch one is the oil pressure sender, and where should i atatch it in the vts block:

I've used the XU5 sump, is there any problem with the Flywheel beeing like this, or there's any protection from other model because de XU5 one doesn't fit obviously.

Finally, my accelerator cable is to long, and the VTS one doesn't connect in the 205 pedal, is there any other peugeot cable that i can buy? Can i connect the second water out in the back of the termostat housing to the top of the tank (in the 205 is connected to de TB). The cannister, can i remove all the plastic and the oil return that comes from the top of the engine? The rad vent switch holder ir hiting it.

Thank's in advance and sorry for the long post.

brown plug if it goes all the way through past the engine to the right hand side of the car will be the charcoal canister purge solenoid.

ac does use a white 2 pin plug.

they will all have numbers within a few inches of the plug btw.

not sure what you mean with the inertia switch etc, just connect the wire from it to the 205 fuel pump wiring.

larger sender is for the gauge, smaller is a switch, you need an adapter or find an XU10 version (i.e from an S16 or phase1 6, 2.0 MI16) as the threads differ to the alloy blocks.

you will need to add a wire for it if its a non pressure gauge dash+loom, there are two M167 holes in the block, one as pictured and one behind the starter motor, will often have another pressure switch in the hole unused or a blanking plug.

205 ecu wiring, yep remove them, AFAIK the XU5 flywheel cover should fit fine.

Accelerator cable, just buy a kit from a motorfactor, they will fit the majority of pugs/citroens and have a number of different attachments.

coolant pipes, just use a complete BBM kit.

Hi! Thanks.

Relative to the inercia switch, there are 4 wires in the same cable: 2 to the inertia switch a 2 tho that brown plug. So the inertia switch has 2 wires.

The canister has a yellow plug that is connected (you can see it in the second picture, should i disconnect it?). I allready removed all the pipes.

The oil pressure sensor, I have bought the connecter for 2 sender's that was supost to fit the XU10 block ( one in the topo and one in the side). I thought i had to remove one of the XU10 sender's, connect the T piece and the 2 sensors.

I have a LH car so, the BBM pipes are no good.

You cannot run the wire to the pump from the int switch, OK on the 306 loom but the Xsara one goes thru the Relay, Just find the correct pin out from the relay and find your fuel pump wire, It's quite thick
