306 Hdi Fuel Pump In Tank

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

Does anyone know what is the +V and -V on the fuel pump conenctor? I think its Pin2 and Pin3 to enable the pump to prime.

When taking a multimeter to the feed plug, turn ignition on, it reads 12v on pin 2 and 3 for 3 secs then drops to 3v.

I just want to make sure the pump is dud before buying a new one.

cheers

hate to say it but the pumps have a reputation for failing - mine was running fine but wouldnt start 8 hours later -tapping it helped but only temporary solution so more likely than wiring

good luck!

I havnt got a wiring diagram to hand but normally you have 2 thick wires and 2 thinner ones, the thicker ones are for the pump the thin ones are for the gauge
