106 Engine Management Light

Hi guys,

 

A friend at work came asking me about a fault with his 106 today. The engine management light is on. The car seems to be running ok. Its got a Cat fitted so my 1st thought is a sensor/cat issue.

 

Does anybody have any experience what sensors usually put the light on?

 

It has coolant, oil is ok, no obvious loose wires - pulls ok but has a constant light on.

 

Any help would be great - the bloke is skint so really cant afford to put it into a garage.
