Mini (Blown Exhaust Flexi)

Recommended Posts

dobboy

The small flexi on the mani/DP of my mini is blowing.

Would it be a garage who fixes/replaces these or an exhaust place?

Also, I've got a spare DP (also with a duff flexi) which has had the CAT removed, if I fitted this would the exhaust be louder? and would the emissions light be constantly on? (obviously i'd get the flexi changed before fitting it).

TIA

garage, or a specialist exhaust fabricator, not any of the fast fit exhaust places, they're only interested in fitting their own parts complete off the shelf.

most likely though not significantly.

quite likely also, would imagine the mini is new enough to have a twin Lambda management system which monitors the condition of the catalytic converter.

Cheers WP, and yes it has pre and post CAT Lambdas.

The mani/DP seems to have two flexies, one with the typical mesh/braid over a sort of accordion piece, and the one that's blowing which seems to have a heavy duty protective cover over it that will need ground off.
