4 2 1 Manifold For 205 1.1

Recommended Posts

Guest jlawson

On a previous topic in 2005 I read that some of the forum members had looked into a manifold made by CSC Marmitte in Italy for the 205 XS. (ordered through Torino Auto Spares)

I am looking to fit one to my 205 1.1 (1.4 for the future with a 1.1 gearbox).

What sort of cost was the manifold? Was It easy to get ?

How easy is it fit?

I have a janspeed exhaust for a 205 XS fitted at the moment and want to squeeze a bit more performance.

Will there be any fitting problems due to the TU1 engine having a different block height to the TU3S?

Cheers

Jonathan

Hi,

I organised that group buy and there is another one in September, check out the "group buys" section.

CSC don't list a manifold for the 1.1 specifically, but they do some nice backboxes.

I imagine the biggest problem with fitting the TU3S manifold to the TU1 is that the gearbox bracket won't reach and therefore too much strain will be put on the flanges.

To be honest, is it really worth it on a 1.1 engine?

Anyway, to answer your questions about availability, it is very easy to get, if you want a TU3S manifold, send me a cheque for £168 and the part will be delivered to you.

Word of warning though, delivery times can be quite drawn out...

If you already have a janspeed manifold fitted, then I see little reason to swop it for a marmitte one. Not really sure you see any difference. Not sure if there is a difference in the bore. However if it helps I am running a CSC marmitte manifold on my Euro rallye (which is essentially a 1.1 block).

But If you have a manifold already the expense is probably better sent on a decent exhaust system and/or air filter or camshaft.

Chris I have only a stock cast iron manifold fitted at the moment.

The Janspeed is the exhaust only.

Is the gearbox mounting hole in the same place on a TU1 as the TU3S?

I am hoping to fit a TU3S engine at a later date.

Cheers

No idea about the mounting hole. I guess it should be.

In my humble opinion, you're better off just getting hold of a cheap xs for a couple of hundred quid and starting off with that.

Does that manifold attach to the standard centre pipe macaroni?
