Xu10 Crank Pressure Breather

Recommended Posts

205freak

Hi, i would like to know if the xu10 crank pressure breather pipe needs to go all the way to end of the sump or can be half way down??

The one that came with the engine was cut more or less 7cm, my friend has also a same engine but on his engine the pipe is longer!!

Do i need to source another breather pipe or this one will be ok!!!

Thanks

The idea is to return oil under the surface and keep it away from the rotating crank. However, from experience I can tell you the tube fractures and breaks off at high RPM levels. I wouldn't loose any sleep and consider it a bonus.

So i´ll be fine using shorter, thats good to hear and being this engine 8v how bad would be if its blocked, would the dipstick and seals could come out and leak oil???

8V or 16V what's the difference? It's all about preventing return breather oil from dropping on the crank. You could block it off, and plumb it like a 1.6/1.9 8V.
