I just get someone to work the wheel side to side for me short and sharp as you do for a MOT and would watch I but pay attention to the top of the ball joint pin and even the bottom of it if you can seen it and you can normally see the movement there, or a nip on the bolt often takes it out if it's not to bad BUT THAT IS NOT A FIX it would do it again and still would need the hub but if the bolt is tight don't try and get more on it it's part of the reason they do it been over tightened.
