do you mean the piston hydraulic seal or the dust seal?

there are a few different piston sizes used in this type of brake caliper.

i think the dust seal? the one that is on the outside of the caliper. the piston fits in the seal, but the seal is to small for the caliper.

It's possible you may have some 306 gti6 brake callipers as they were 32mm pistons opposed to the 30mm pistons of the 205.

Have you a set of Vernier callipers to measure the pistons?

the piston is the same size, both the new and the old. the hole in the dust seal is also the same as the old dust seal. but the new wont fit the caliper

Have you tried warming the seal up by putting it in some hot water for 30 seconds or so?

yes. but i think i found the problem. one of the calipers have a small dent in the lip where the rubber seal goes. will try and fix it, dont want to get one more pair of calipers
