Rear Track Change Non-Gti Beam And Brakes Vs 1.9 Gti

Recommended Posts

I have a ’90 205 Look with standard non-GTI rear beam and brakes. Ideally, I would like to install 1.9 GTI rear beam, suspension, disk brakes etc. I understand that the rear track is different depending whether you have base model beam and brakes or 1.9 beam and brakes.

From Australian 205 forum I found that measured from hub face to hub face, the width of 1.6 drums is 1364 mm and 1.9 disks 1378 mm. From this forum I found that the drum brakes of 1.6 GTI and base model have different width but I cannot quite understand if and how the beam and hubs have any additional influence to it.

Could someone shed some light into this issue, i.e. how much would the rear track change in the base model beam and brakes are replaced with 1.9 GTI beam and brakes?
