Aftermarket Drive Shafts Same Tripod Design?

Recommended Posts

allye

Ongoing driveshaft saga,

Basically fed up of rebuilding my driveshafts with used genuine ones for it to start knocking. The reason I haven't bought new and transferred across is because I understand aftermarket cheaper drive shafts won't be the tripod-rebuild able type?

Is that correct or is it hit and miss? Reference 406 ML drive shafts btw.

Cheers, ali

standard shafts don't have a tripod outer joint.

ahh, then yes that end is a tripod type, however on all the v6 conversions I've helped with they haven't been an issue if the shafts are the right length.

In conclusion, I had one delivered from ECP, same design, changed it all over, job done.
