Rev Counter Issues Jp4 205

Recommended Posts

Got the jp4 conversion in my 205, how do I get the rev counter to work?

Is it the same as the above thread or do I need to go down the box route?

Spoke to a guy near me and he said something about getting a box used commonly in MK2 Golf 1.8T conversions.

Any help would be appreciated

A 'box' is the neatest method, then nothing in the clocks or wiring needs to be modified, you just connect the ECU loom tacho output to the box and the output of the box to the 205's tacho input. They're horrendously expensive for what they are but simple to make yourself:

I chose to modify my rev counter as per this topic, simple to do and doesn't take long and works perfectly on my Omex ecu.

The above is how I've always done rev counters for GTi6 and aftermarket management, and I see no reason why it wouldn't work equally well with the tacho output on your ECU.
