He is for sure my biggest inspiration but this humble project is nothing near his and never will be he is on a completely another level.

Mehrang has a lot going on in his life with his shop which where he not only services cars but builds custom bikes. He's recently had a baby and is also working on a interesting project at the university. Fingers crossed he will be able to finish off his amazing build in the near future.

The hottest project at the moment on gti drivers ;)

It certainly is Mike, but the CTI is not that popular in the UK (despite us being the biggest purchaser of convertibles in Europe) so quite exclusive. I still can't believe that this beast is being built by Munir in a cold climate like Sweden!! I thought I was mad driving like this back from Llandow when it was snowing!

@Mike-yeah the thread seems very popular indeed, massive respons

@Heny-I think Sweden is the second largest purcheser of convertables. As you probably suspect I don't use the car in the winter time but i actually did a crazy trip with the Cti all the way to Odda, Norway in 2010:)

Ok so back to the build as if anyone is interested :D

Ok time to put the engine together. The block was cleaned and checked with ultrasound as was the head which was fitted with new valve stems etc. Standard new bearings used as the crank was as good as new so only cosmetic polish. New rings. Millers assembly oil used.

I can't quite put my finger on it, but for some reason I think these are my favourite of your project pics so far :)

The Dimmas are far to wide i'm afraid so will be keeping those for a hopefully future Dimma project. Just to give you an idea of what i mean a couple of pictures of my Griffe. These are both front rims.

Some pics of the engine bay painted couple od weeks ago. Work is comming along really great and the engine is back in. Currently all the attention has been redirected to the engine loom which needs some work.
