Removing The Side Water Flange

Recommended Posts

idoari

Hi ,

i'm trying to remove the side water flange (see picture) . i remove the dizzy , all the hoses and the little water flange (where the ENGINE water temp sensor is) , remove the seven 11mm bolts and the allen bolt near the camshaft opening (where the dizzy was bolted) but it's not budging. i used a lot of force (without leverage).

the flange sealed with silicone and not the gasket.

i'm worry the camshaft itself need to come out in order to remove the flange but i'm not sure.

can you confirm if i need to remove the camshaft to remove the flange or not?

thanks

I had this off you don't need to take the camshaft out ,mine was a gasket so easier to remove . :D The pics were on photobucket though which doesn't alloy hosting anymore.

You don't have to take the camshaft out. If all bolts are out tapping the housing with a plastic hammer usually breaks the sealant.
