Has anyone got the upper engine mount fitted on a GTI6 engine?

If so, did you manage to fit the OE buffers?

TIA

I think you need to separate the mount into two halves to get the buffers in.

I was thinking more that the bolts for the buffers have to be shortened.

Hopefully someone who's done it will advise. ????

Are you meant to fit the buffers then the mount?

Or mount, buffers, then engine mount?

Is this in a 205 or 306?

I got them fitted with the mount in place, but had to remove engine bracket and chop one of the buffer fixings down. Not sure but I don't think you could fit buffers before the mount.

Did you split the mount into bits?

I think some of their mounts can be split (to change the spec of the insert) and some of them can't.

Mount in first then the 2 buffers afterwards, much like a std mount but you can get away with 1 buffer on those

thinking about it now i think i might have trimmed the buffers a little to get them in

Are you sure? Mine wouldn't fit due to the angle/overall length of the buffer, hence why I trimmed the fixing on it.

There is some tolerance there, hence the shim kit for spacing out the buffers that Peugeot supply. So what fits easily on one 205 might be tighter on another.

It's certainly a lot easier to install in two parts, especially the race version. You can also then tighten the main bolt with an allen key etc.
