Checking What 1.9 Xu Lump I Have

Recommended Posts

MerlinGTI

I understand there are a number of different 1.9 XU varient's including cat models and a 105hp low compression jobbie used in the CTI or was it the gentry? (think ive got that right?)

Anyway I have a 1.9 engine on a stand awaiting rebuild in the new year but I dont want to waste any time on it if its one of the low comp ones. Also will I encounter any problems if it was an engine orginally paired with a cat? I ask as it wont be fitted with a cat once rebuilt.

Any help apreacited :D

There are two alloy plates above the altonator, and they read as follows:

#1 (printed) 'D6B'

#2 (stamped) 1CW3U

002505

Cheers
