Yes obviously.

 

The thing I didn't like on the ones above is that they are built of base model 205s. Not a CTi. So they had to weld in the reinforcements themselves, which they did using steel square tubing. If you look at detailed pics of the yellow one, you'll see what a bodge it really is.

Furthermore I *think* that there is only one. First it was the yellow one, which later received the lambo doors and T16 engine and was sprayed green.

Hadn't seen those picks before but that is exactly how I pictured a 205 Speedster! Seen a 306 one at the Birmingham Motorshow years ago. This is going to be a fantastic project Hilgie and I know that you'll do it proud.

Yeah...that what I mean....they used a base model 205 and welded the reinforcements in. A bodge if you ask me.

 

I use a CTi, so all reinforcements are already there.

Only just noticed this project. Whats happened to it?

Still working on it....but has become a massive project.

 

Sorted the wheels last week. It will be running 18" Technomagnesio Detroit rims, sprayed in blackchrome. The dash is from a 106 Rallye, shortened. The heater has been removed and all holes in the bulkhead have been shut. Rerouted all wiring looms out of the enginebay, so it will look clean. The rpm and speedometer unit have been bought. It's from a motorbike

Got the seats as well and preparing to mount them on the floor. Got the rearbeam with discs sorted, as well as the front subframe (1.9GTi).

 

Only things needed now are front and rear bumpers and valances (custom made from GRP) and I am looking to fit some Rugeri arches.

or how about using a slightly curved A-frame off a newer car?

The windscreen will be a shortened original one. I have thought about using one from a newer car, but the original ones has been modified so much that it looks completely different already.

Looking good Hilgie. I've seen this done on minis. It looks a bit wierd at first cause of the change in lines compared to original but once it all comes together they look really good. One thing I have seen done a lot on minis is cowls running up to the roll over bars to break up the expanse of the back panel.

Same as whats going to be done on this one. The top will be fibreglass, so this is only the underlying sheetmetal.
