Knocking Rear Brakes

Recommended Posts

Gavin Waddell

I have disc brakes on the back of my 1.6gti, and when I apply light pressure to the pedal there is a constant knockin, if apply full pressure it goes away.

I had a look at the calipers and the osr seems to wiggle a bit On the the sliders pins, where as the rns doesn't budge. I checked the slider bolts and there all tight. Don't really understand how the sliders pins could develop play.

Thanks Gavin

ive had bolts torque up but not clamp the pins properly due to crap in the threads, I'd send a tap through and see what happens.

The alloy wears on the caliper where the sliders go through, resulting in play. I've had it happen on a coupe of sets of front Bendix calipers.
