Tu16V Clutch Problem

Ive fitted a new valeo clutch kit and new cable to my 106 gti but i cant select any gear while running, clutch plate is round the correct way and all mountings etc are on. Release bearing is correctly mounted and i appear to get full clutch arm movement. I have checked with valeo's website to check part numbers and they match the car. Does anyone have any ideas?

is it just grinding?

 

or not moving forwards/backwards?

it grinds into reverse, it moves back and forwards but it stops prior to gear selection.

Is it an MA or BE gearbox?

its a ma box ive sorted it now turned out to be a faulty clutch plate replaced with a luk.
