206 Front Grill Removal?

hi, im thinking about buying a mesh sp grill for my 206, its a hdi so its got the non gti style front bumper. iv heard that to fit the new grill u have to take off the whole front bumper but im really not that keen on doing that, is there another way of fitting it without removing the bumper, ie can u just push it over the existing one and bolt it on that way or maybe cable tie it on without the cable ties being seen?
