206Cc Keyfobs

Recommended Posts

Slo

Just bought one of these cars and its riddled with problems that im slowly sorting out.

One of them being it came with one 1 keyfob. It had broken buttons and the case was well knackered so i've got one of those cheap ones off ebay for £3.90 and some new buttons for under 2 quid and now all sorted and working well.

However it came with a key blank so its got me wondering, if I bought a 2nd hand key from a dead car but working fob, could i make the car learn the keyfob and get the blank cut to match and have 2 working keys?

I dont see why the remote wony work but what about the transponder can the ecu learn these?

What about pp2000 can that do anything programming wise?

Cheers

I've not tried it on a 206 but I would imagine it's broadly the same as a Phase 3 306 with RF locking.

If so, PP2000 can code the new key for the transponder very easily providing that you've the ECU security code (if not, it can be obtained from Peugeot or some online places for a few quid) but the remote locking is somewhat problematic as used keys often won't recode to another car, so you would be able to start the engine but not remotely lock/unlock the car.

Like I said though, I've not tried it on a 206 so it might be different.

Thanks for the reply, the hand book shows you how to add keyfobs to the car but based on the above im guessing it will only work for keys that were supplied with the car from new that have been deleted from removed batteries etc, although the manual doesnt say anything on the subject.

I've posted the same question on peugeot forums and got an almost identical answer too apart from someone said you can program a new transponder to the car but not a used one. Just my luck.

Cheers
