307 1.4 Petrol Won't Rev Over 500Rpm When Cold

Recommended Posts

ScoobyJawa

Hi all

Just wondered if anyone had any thoughts as to what this might be. Mate has a 1.4 petrol 307 and when its cold it will not rev over 500rpm. Once its warmed up its absolutely fine, only when cold. Check the ODBC and there aren't any error codes (well none relating to engine anyway!).

Any thoughts?

Cheers

Neil

Can you get any live data from it with the code reader being used?.

My first suspicions would be coolant temp sensor but without seeing what the ECU is its a guess but a cheap thing to rule out initially.

I don't think so, will ask. I was thinking along the lines of a temp sensor. I guess they are pretty cheap, just how easy to replace!
