[Engine_Work] 205 Mi16 Respray And Engine Rebuild

Recommended Posts

Would be easier building the engine then putting it in the car, wouldn't it?

Looking good though ;)

Well its on 2 engine mounts when i put it in i thought that it was sitting wierd?? but then you got to put into count that theres no top end weight on it to make tilt back or no gearbox.

Theres still big gap on cambelt side, its only the flywheel sits a bit to far forward towards front panel but still a good gap to stop any paint being damage!

And for building the engine out its only putting the head on which it far easy enough to do in the car and it was not my engine stand so wanted it give it back lol

Iv been painting the gearbox today (Silver) so thats the next thing to put in and then the engine will be sitting normal again. :)

Thanks for comments fellas ;)

Get a jack or a afew blocks supporting that block from the sump, no need to put all that stress on your inner wing/chassis leg!

I like that colour too, what you have done looks really good. I like the red theme which i think stands out well with the grey colouring of car.

When do you think its will be back on the road, are you going to rolling road with it at all ?

Well... i m still currently saving for paint and materials which i should get sorted this weekend hopefully!

So then can get cracking with it and get the rest of it painted, then its the easy bits M.O.T and Tax

Unsure on a date but sooner the better

But once its finally back on the road it will be having proper management with cams and Hopefully ITB's then of course it will be having a trip to the rollers :P

Any updates on this yet Josh ?

Where does the inlet 2nd small red pipe lead too under the inlet ?

You've done well being only 19, when i was that age i just passed my test after leaving college raving & living the life most of the time.

Oh and did you manage to get one of those inlet badges ?

Nothing like the bwarp sound from a set of ITB's, i might be getting them myself just not certain yet.

Well if you still want one of those badges i 'think' i have one spare you can have if you want, i found an original outline lion like what 205 gti's had on their inlet.
