Have some more piccys of that sorrento one here, that one always came second to the red one mentioned above! The green one was done proper, the red one is over restored everything underneath painted looks to non factory.

The one shown in sporting 205s, i wish i new, wonder if it is tucked up some where, ive never seen it. When i joined the psc in 1998, the above mentioned sorento and red gtis are the 2 always seen in the concours.

Yeah the product is a autolym one. In the wheel cleaner/ fast glass/ tyre dressing squirty bottle with a yellow label. Works grat on dash boards etc and can be used a a tyre dressing to. Good multi use one

Well I'm kinda put off doing a concourse 205 GTI now.

I don't think the car is rare enough YET to be proud to own one,

So I'm thinking of just keeping it tidy (like how it is).

I have found over this winter that the top of the engine bay still looks

as it does from the pics shown before on this forum but the bottom

looks nearly as bad as before the rebuild but with less rust.

I am considering joining PSOOC Though.

Thanks

Alex.

Just been looking at them, looks truely amazing, would never pass a standard concours because of the block colour you would need to enter the modified class.

Yeah thats what I was thinking.

But the problems I'm Having means It has to come out again.

Thinking about a bead blast finish for the block and head (same as g/box)

But I'm worrying how long it ill last.

Do you think the manufactures coat the bare block with anything.

Inlet m/fold:Wire brushed (drill wire brush not by hand)

rocker cover: polished

cam cover: chrome

Powder coated black (sump, subframe etc.)

and silver(alternator bracket. mounting brackets etc...)

Hub carriers, wishbones etc.. black hammerite.

Alex.

P.s I will be using a new engine (mate spare)(he's doing a Mi16 conv.

so when I get it rebuilt the car should only be off the road about a week.

IMO that is just plain creepy (not to mention rude) why bother?

Surely the absolute best thing about our beloved 205 is the drive, the way it will pop an inside rear wheel, the way it steers on the throttle, the way it so quickly changes direction and is off hunting down the next corner?

I take my hat of to people who restore cars (having done one myslelf) and bring them back from almost certain death but lets not loose sight out what the 205 is about. :)

/lecture over.
