Be1 Selector Shaft Seal Available?

Recommended Posts

happypatrol

Ive just had my gearbox rebuilt at a local engineer's and gearbox place. The box was originally leaking from every possible place. Now all re sealed when split and new shaft seals. However they have tried their best to source me a new selector shaft seal only to wait days and it was the wrong one. Ive tried having a look around myself but without a size or part number I'm struggling a bit.

If anyone knows of somewhere that i can but a new seal that would be great. Id far rather just change it while the box is out and before i clean the rest of the engine bay before putting box and engine back in.

Thanks in advance.

top selector or rear?

guessing rear as the top is just a pair of o-rings, and irc all BE boxes use the same ones here.

looking at servicebox if you have the earlier large diameter shaft with a removable arm they are NFP, two part numbers, same od and i.d but one is deeper.

the later bent arm smaller diameter isn't NFP, they're still used today.

I will double check this and get Back to u. It is the rear selector. I'm sure from memory the arm is held on with a roller pin and can be removed if u wanted to change the seal.

I didn't know there were different types of be1. Mines has more bolts on the end casing of that makes a difference. I'll look tonight or tryn out a pic on.

Thanks guys.

BE1 uses the large seal, pop to a bearing supplier with the size etc and you may find one to suit
