Car Wont Start - 2nd Time

Recommended Posts

Guest srack

the car is an 1900 205gti

has a bx gti 1900 engine.

formilier problems - cold start issues. was repaired when i took an electrical connector spray, and sprayed the ecu temp unit.

now, 2nd problem

went to teach over collage.

cold, 4c degree, car havent moved in 2 days, tried to start. nothing.

the starter works fine. battery sounds little bit slow , tried again. nothing.

tried for 3 min, until battery died.

now, the car isnt stuck over my garage, so i cant charge it at this moment.

checked the fuel - injectors receive fuel fine

spark exists.

the car doesnt even rough start and than turns off. it just wont start!!

plugs were replaced in case of suspecting it is bad. spark leads are new Splitfire (3000km old)

so what can it be? fuel is there. can it be that the ecu temp sensor is bad?

the last time i had problems (when i posted the forum) the outside temp was approx 20-25c

now its approx 5.

want to hear your opinion before i call someone to tow it to my garage (it cost nearly 50gbp to do it.)

thanks. and happy holidays

Firstly i'd put my battery on charge and make sure its fully charged before you try and use it. You may have flooded the engine so try turning it over with the injectors disconnected for a few seconds then plug them back on and see what happens.

Can still be a weak spark. Might be the ignition amp or coil has packed up. Recharge the battery as well as they don't get on with the cold too well sometimes. Also maybe check the rotor arm is in good condition, it might not be transfering the spark.

updates -

distributor - replaced

ecu water sensor - replaced new

sad sensor - replaced

spark - ok

coil - replaced new

ignition amp - replaced new

status - unknown. will wait for the car to 'sleep' for a while. will reinform if anything goes bad again.

thanks and happy new year.
