Yes contrast is nice, and yes you saw them ages ago :)

I'm kinda slow with the updates, got quite some more pics now and I'll put them up soonish.

Getting more and more pleased with the car and how it looks.

More updates now, as I've actually come a bit futher in reality than this thread is telling at the time beeing :)

Build an exhaustsystem (well it ended up with two).

Got an Aeroturbine muffler on eBay, 2.5" stainless straight through.

CIMG0142.thumb.jpg

Borrowed the Tig welder at university and welded up the system myself

Ended up like this:

CIMG0167.thumb.jpg

Even started to get some nice looking welds when I almost was finished.

CIMG0169.thumb.jpg

After it was done it fitted perfect on the car, really don't think it could have been any better than this.

CIMG0170.thumb.jpg

CIMG0172.thumb.jpg

But after all, when starting the car with this exhaust it was very very noisy. I've never heard anything like it before, sounded almost like a Kawasaki Ninja without muffler at all

So decided to make one more from mild steel, got some Simons universal mufflers and tube and started again.

Didn't end up as good at the stainless, but ok enough I believe.

Now I have 3 complete exhaust systems, that easily can be changed in 5 minutes.

And it's more to come

Got the front windscreen in now, and also bonded in the rear one.

Just a pic from inside the garage.

CIMG0213.thumb.jpg

Put the Peugeot, 205 and Mi16 badges on the rear ^_^

CIMG0245.thumb.jpg

And took her out of the garage to take an outside picture in daylight.

I'm very pleased with her now :)

And yes.. I'll get her lowered later on. Now it's on the lowest setting on the front coilovers before the spring becomes loose when jacking her up. 10" 250lb springs now, will get some 8" ones later.

Also got some 23mm bars for the rear beam, so will lower it a little bit at the rear too when time comes.

However I'll try to get her approved with the suspension setup she's got at the moment

standard to very early cars.

According to cybernck it's base model mirrors, even early GTI's have different ones I think.

At least my last 1985 205 GTi had different ones to this.

Mmmmm, me likes orange! Not fan of those wheelarches, but nevertheless, very very sexy! :)

And yes, those mirrors are from lesser models.

Hoooly crap! :)

I'm sitting here shaking and really scared after one day of 205 driving!

Did buy 24 hour test-plates for it so did test drive it today, and did some mapping on the road.

I must say it's an insane engine, just pulls soo hard when comes on cam.

Still not properly mapped, just very very rough, but it just pulls and pulls.

Not been over 6500rpm yet, but I can assure you it'll wheelspin 1'st, 2'nd and 3'rd on dry road with quaife lsd and Yokohama Advan A048 semislicks!

The sound level was just too high though, so can't really think I can get it through the mot without building an air-box for it.

Holy what a day!!!! :D:blink:B):):excl:

I got the fan from specialtuning. Think it was listed as a 205 T16 fan, but think it's just a normal 10" fan that's wasily gotten cheap from eBay.

Have you thought about how your going to fit a grill as your not using the fan cowling / slam panel etc?

I'm only asking as i'll be doing the same, all that cowling is useless and only blocks most of the air!

Just gotta trial fit the engine with the bodies and i'll be fabbing up some sexy brackets for the rad and cooler!

It's just the lower brackes for the grille that's gone, I have now extended the upper ones so tehy sit 1cm further forward, due to the new bonnet seem to stick a little more forward.

The other brackets I don't know yet, but think I'll just make some aluminium or steel brackets.

Got any pics, i dont really understand what you've done? Does the top of the grill not fix to the slam panel which your not using?? (Thinking about it, it fixes to the sides - where the headlights fix to dont it?)

It fixes to the slam panel yes, I've just welded on some L shaped brackets with a nut welded on the backside to space grille a little out.

Bottom mountingpoints not sorted yet. Think it looks good without the grille too

More hardcore.

I've been test-driving it for some kilometres now, more like 300 of them..

And I must say the car is too harsh to drive for my liking :(

The steeringwheel is all over the place, probably much because of the differential (Quaife) that works really hard when I give it full throttle.

Not sure if I'm dissappointed or not really, but it's just too noisy and harsh to be driven long distances to do trackdays with it, have to be trailored and that's not an option really...

A little movie for the ones interested:
