Anyone Got A 306 With Abs?

Recommended Posts

cRaig

Odd question.. but I'm finally getting around to sorting the brake pipes for the ABS install, and was wondering if anyone has a 306 with ABS (with load compensator) that they could describe the brake pipe layout eg, from port to port, which is which side etc? particularly for the abs block and the compensator.

I did make a note of it when I removed the system, but have typically lost the piece of paper! I've looked on the service box, but it only shows the brake lines in isolation.

There doesnt seem to be a decent scrapyard near me at the moment, so it would save me a trip out if anyone has one on their drive! :)

Cheers,

Craig

2 port mc, across to abs unit, then split 4 ways to each wheel.

on a 306 (and zx) the unit is on the left side and all the lines run under the battery tray above the gearbox mounting.

two joiners on the bulkhead then two lines under the car on the left side then round the side of the tank and over the beam, another joiner then into the load compensator.

right side has a short hard line to a bracket then a longer flexi than the left side.

there are drawings on servicebox btw

Its more what are the inputs/outputs into the abs block I could do with knowing? Ie what goes where from each port? Ive not got the block with me right now, but I dont think they are labeled in any way?

Another question.. (I've started at the back..) How do you setup/adjust the load compensator? I've got it installed in roughly the right place (still need to drill an extra hole in the damper bracket to mount it) Presumably you set it with the wheel jacked off the ground, and then it adjusts back in with load? Do peugeot have a guide, or is it in the 306 haynes manual?

Cheers! :)

I thought those things were pre-set and didn't need adjusting. But happy to be corrected. I replaced one on my car a few years back (for a new one, like you have) and all I did was fit it and bleed it. Seems to be ok, if it were that far out I'd have thought it'd show up on the MoT brake test

Yup- the 306 one has quite a lot of adjustment- none of the bars are tightened in place, so needs some degree of setting up. Is it mentioned in the 306 haynes manual, if anyone has one to hand?
