This my 1993 205 GTI 1.9. I've had it for 3 years now and a full respray is long overdue. Taking the opportunity to do the front end as well as new bilstiens and eipachs and original pug back shocks.

After a stop start beginning, things are starting to get moving.

Dunno how to get them all uploaded in a single post so apologies.

More pics to follow as more work gets done. Whole thing is costing £2100 for full respray and welding including removing and refitting engine, fitting new subframe, front and rear suspension and fitting new water and oil breather hoses. Some other bits and bobs getting fitted as well.

Good luck with the project.

The only thing i would suggest is you strip it down a bit more for prepping, saves you going back over the areas that are covered once stripped.

Absolutely as above, get those door handles, window seals, sunroof trims etc removed. Nothing spoils a good paint job more than hard masking lines around stuff that is easy to take off, but wasn't.

Couldn't agree more. My initial respray was done with handle/locks on plus other stuff. Ended up having it redone to get it right due to poor finish around screen/locks etc.

Good luck with it pal

Here are some more batches of pics. Ive been at my wits end tbh. The guy restoring it for me is taking ages to get it done. Been 18 months so far. Was quoted 3 months.
