Thought I should bring closure to this thread.

 

The car was broken up for parts and most of the bits have gone to new homes, so whilst it might be another lost from the ever-decreasing 205 numbers, it has helped keep numerous other cars on the road :)

The shell has now gone to the great scrapyard in the sky, and the V5C went off in the post today.

Just read this and the project jalopy thread, Anthony. Makes for enjoyable reading, and gets me wanting to screw around with a 205 again. Shame this one wasn't worth the fight, but indeed at least it's helping to keep other more worthy examples on the roads, and out of the scrapheap
