Recommended Posts

Guest henrik_ogp

Hi.

I am looking inte buying a x4 with bad rear suspensing bearings.

Does anyone of you guys happen to know what parts are needed to replace the rear trailing arm bearings on a x4?

Peugeot/Citroen spare part no or standard no´s like SKF or so.

Thanks in advance.

/Henrik

Hi Henrik

I don't have anything specific for you sorry but look into Citroen BX part numbers. The 4bie rear suspension is a modified BX assembly.

Can anyone confirm whether or not they would be the same?

I found the bearings to actually be the same as the Citroen CX ones.

I first bought a kit for BX but not 4x4 and those were too small, so stay clear as long as it's not BX 4x4.

Have any tips as how to replace them? Is it necessary to remove the rearbeam, or can the trailingarms be "easily" removed from the car? And can it be done without having to fiddle with the hydraulics?

Remove arm from car by loosening the clip holding the hydraulic damper to the arm, and then just undo the long bolt holding the arm to the subframe I imagnine.

Well of course driveshafts etc. must out.

It is a possiblity it can be done while keeping it on car with driveshaft etc. in place, but I think it would be extremely fiddly and annoying to do this.
