Bolk Alternator Question.

Recommended Posts

forbeslongden

Hey guys,

Just looking to replace the alternator in my 1.6 GTi, I'm wondering if this one will plug and play so-to-speak?

I notice they have different voltage ratings, anyone able to advise which is the correct one?

Thanks in advance.

Yes, it should be certainly matches the O.E number from Peugeot.

As long as it matches the belt you have on, it will be a simple old unit off and new unit on.

Certainly was when I replaced mine last year.

Servicebox info below of the O.E reference used on the listing

Are Bolk parts not poor quality?

I've often seen them listed when looking for parts and they are much cheaper than other leading brands, which leads me to believe they may be lower quality.

Just bought a Bolk heater matrix for 17 euros as opposed to 45 for a Valeo one... In hindsight I should have spen more, as a leaking heater matrix will leave me on the side of the road calling for assitance.

I went for the CEVAM one in the end, I'll keep my old one since there's nothing wrong with it as a back up, just in case :)
