Question About Followers.

Recommended Posts

N3VRAM

I've bought some new followers for an engine we are building however upon receiving them they appear to have a smaller diameter adjusting screw. I was going to send them back but can't seem to find any online that have the 'correct' size! Has anyone else had this issue?

The ones i've been sent ar M6x1 but the old ones were M8x1. Does anyone know where i can get a hold of the M6x1 adjusters and lock nuts? Preferably online as our closest main dealer doesn't want to know when it comes to 205 parts!

Thanks for your help.

Yep! The ones i purchased were as below.

FEBI BILSTEIN : 18351

I think these are for a later engine possibly, however i can't find anything other than ones identical to the above.

The original Peugeot adjusting pieces are actually M9 x 1mm, which isn't that common and Peugeot also don't supply them anymore. You are correct about the later parts being M6 and this is probably why the aftermarket parts are also this size.

The changeover date from M9 to M6 was Sept 1997.

All info gleaned from ServiceBox btw, so its just a case of looking in the right place :P;)

Edit: Looking further, Peugeot only used the M6 rocker arms for about 8 months (Sept '97 to May '98) before they changed over to the roller style rocker arms. So its odd that this is the style that the aftermarket have gone with...

Why are you changing your rockers just out of interest?

Thanks for info .I've bought new aftermarket cam and need new followers to go with it .

Bought the followers quite a while ago and only realised the different adjuster size when i've come to assemble the rocker gear.

Hopefully the lesser adjuster diameter will be OK with a wilder cam and heavier valve springs .
