Rough Power

Recommended Posts

well after all the rain we had yesterday my 1.4xs has started to feel "lumpy" when accelerating. it kind of gos then it pulls back and does this alot. i thought it might just be the water getting into the carb and it would go when heated up.but after my 13mile trip to work it didnt improve.

done it in every gear even doing when doing 70 in 5th but was very mild.

someone said at work it could be that the dizzy has water in it or some thing like that??

really feels like its lost power when going up hills and when you put your foot down it kind of overcomes it as the second choke comes in.

Obveously i dont want to go ragging it about everywhere so need some help on how to sort it out

Like you say, you just have some water in your electrics...Take it for a good long rag and get her nice and warm, then leave her running untill the fans come on for a while and she should dry out and be good as new.

I wouldnt worry if I were you :(

Whip your dizzy cap off and have a look.

If it looks damp, wack some wd-40 in there and wipe with a rag.

tape up the dizzy cap at the seal to stop any more poop getting in there.
