Dw10Td Oil Leak

Recommended Posts

Turbo7379

I have an oil leak on the engine of my 406 HDI 90, DW10TD engine (what's new lol). It is coming from the joint where the oil return pipe from the turbo enters the block.

There is a rubber hose attached to an alloy spigot that is pressed into the block, just above the sump. I thought it was the joint between the hose & the spigot so fitted a strong hose clip, tightened it well but it still leaked.

I took the hose off today and discovered that the spigot is slightly loose in the block! I can turn the spigot round with grips but it wont come out. If I can get it out I can refit it with jb weld or similiar.

Has anyone seen this before? Any idea how I can remove or seal the spigot? I could try & seal around it but there is virtually no room between the back of the spigot & the block plus access is limited with the engine in place.

Cheers, T

I can have a look at my spare block later to see what's stopping it coming out but yeah I have sealed similar things with jb weld/araldite or devcon putty.

It would have to be spotless though and left for a good while for it to cure.
