Theres a few in the PSOOC, IMHO there are some that are over restored, ie painted floor pan underneath to keep up with the ford boys, even tho the pugs werent painted properly out of the factory. Most do a couple of shows a year and thats there only use. Think about painted exhuasts, rear beams etc if your serious.

As for concourse I was wondering what would be passable rarther that what the extreams were as i would be using mine to comute to work in.

i.e Would parts that have been powder coated (black) pass as the're not factory standard.

Its possible to join online at ww.psooc.com

Magazines a year, members only website, stickers, tax disc holder etc, extensive discount directory. 10% discount from most pug dealers.

Using a car as a daily driver will be hard come close to the twice a driven year concours cars. I used to use my 309 goodwood daily and it was such hard work.

I enter my 306 into the show and shine class, as although not a daily drive as my 205 is, it gets used every week rain or shine and lives outside. I havent powder coated or polished any bits and go in the standard class. By true strict standards, powder coating and painting of bits that shouldnt be classed as modified and in that class, looking at one red 205 in the club, who has painted everything under his car i think you would get away with it.

If the concours comps where run to to prper jag standards and porchse standard then, it would need to be 100% origional.

Admit it, you love me really. I know you do.

I'm going on about the fact that this car was representing 205 GTi's to the rest of country on top gear against a 206 GTi 180 shoot out!

Then a month afterwards we find out its had to have an engine rebuild as it wasnt running correctly!

Not that I'm bitter or anything

Before top gear apart from running a bit rich, there was no problems with the car.

he car was booked in after crimbo for valve stems seals, when the head came off there was a cylinder head gasket blow between cylinders ( no signs of this) and a crack in the manifold.

Engine wasnt rebuild as bottem end is fine.

Richt be honest mate how many times do you have to go over the bumpers and side trim with bumper snot to get it that black?

I spent at least 2hours doing mine yeasterday and its still not as black as that!!

(I have a phase 2 pug (J reg black trim) like yours!)

That red pug (reg G*** SRB) your talking about was for sale not long ago in classic cars!!

He had it on the PSOOC for 5K.

I dont use bumper snot anymore i use the Vinyl and Rubber care, the stuff that is like the tyre dressing but scented. One coat and its all i needs, Goes on easier and is quicker to do than the snot.
