Super Josh

Most people by now :(

It's fairly straight forward. The matrix slides out of the right hand side of the heater box/centre console. I distorted the aluminium pipes on mine when removing it(it was easier to get the old ones through the bulkhead that way). But if you get a Valeo one, then they come with the new pipes and O rings. It really is quite easy, just remember to bleed the system properly afterwards, Oh and it might be worth reverse flushing the system while you are at it, if it's not been done recently that is.

i mean removing it to save weight and using a heated front screen or fitting a small electrical fan for de-misting purposes

cheers

Wont the extra weight of wearing a coat to keep warm cancel this out?

Or is it a summer car?

Ignore me, its a track car. You never get cold on track. :(

I ran my 106 rallye for a while with the heater matrix bypassed, because it was leaking. It was a pig to swap.

Guest ste

Sean, I've heard the better 'anti-fog' sprays you can buy for visors etc do a good job of preventing the windows misting. I think I'm going to give one of them a go.

it will still fail an mot with just the spray.

So far a heated screen is an option at £170-230 and something called a Centrifugal Fan for about £45 plus some vents

I might just go for one of those new Carbon dashboards and put in a heated screen..will look well cool plus will be very light

that's mod number 20 on the list :P So hopefully will have it done in the next few months :o
