Sorrento's too common/dirty!

 

Strangely, Alpine and Bianca white are actually quite different, i never remember which way round, but the earlier one is much deeper IMO, the later looks like thin paint, looks a bit washed out but it is a crisper white.

 

Agreed Haze was never on GTi's, and Topaz was only available for a year or so.

Yeah Alpine is the creamier one, I didn't know they did Bianca white 205's though?

 

I like Sorrento, just not as much as most of the other colours

Yup, changed around '90.

Looks good when well cared for but suffers poor treatment badly.

 

I prefer the original Alpine white tbh.

Yeah, that's my original 1.6, picture from the main website.

 

The coachline is an extra, don't know if it was from dealers when new though. Some like it & some don't but I do.

Don't know tbh, the paint code doc's list four whites but not the years of production (at least not on the one I just checked).

My first one was Graphite Grey, followed by a new 309 in Winchester Grey, Times change but one colour I hate now is Miami Blue as they are just too common, White's, Topaz, Black and even dare I say it Cherry red (Only the deep one thou) are on my list now

When I was buying my GTi back in 2003 I wanted a miami blue one, I looked and looked but couldnt find one, and ended up with my steel grey... and I loved it. The paint work has since gone south, and its now satin black.... and looks hard as nails when its clean!

 

After seeing the shiny racings and lemmingzappers white GTis I want a white one!! Maybe the rattle can will come out again later in the year.

 

My first 205 was a graphite grey one... which looked very good.

I've funnily enough never bought on colour.

So far 2xwhite and 1xcherry red, although the white rally car has been resprayed (think it's a jaguar white paint code oddly enough).

 

I'd really like to add a lazer green one to the collection, and nearly bought a 'rough around the edges' miami blue one last year.

Miami Blue is definitely my favourite 205 colour, but I think if I was back in 1990, I would have splashed the cash on a Laser Green.

I'd only ever own a 205 in Alpine, Miami or Cherry, but if I had to choose a favourite of the 3, newly painted Cherry red would be it.

Gotta be Miami for me! That Aussie 205 is lovely! I was in Oz for 2 months and didn't see one 205 gti. I did spot a couple of 405 Mi16s though!

Steel Grey, every day. But maybe Sorrento as next option as I'm a big fan of the green interiors.

if i had to pick it would have to be a ph 1.5 1.9 black

 

i wouldnt mind a silver one just because they are thin on the ground.

I had a ph 1.5 black 1.9 and then swapped it for a ph 1.5 silver 1.9 .

I do now. I think i've had the 3 best colours though (possibly biased, I know)

cherry red (proper red too)

white (current)

 

I've been keen on white for years, the contrasting bodykit (Gti trims) really compliment it well.

Ok picture this. It's the 80s/90s you have just strolled into the local Peugeot dealer to place an order on a brand spanking new 205 GTI. What colour would you go for?

 

In the 80s/90s I would have bought a graphite grey one.

 

Now I would buy a white one.
