Powers

Looking good. It looks like a really good shell, perfect for a track-day car!

That cable is massive - It needs to be. It is really difficult to crimp, my word of advice it to use a vice.

Keep up the good work.

I got a new OMP one from Kev-G on here. He does them for £290 all in delivered. Then got it powdercoated :P

You may not rate them tho being of a rally background? IMO plenty good for a track car.

Get a set of proper crimpers, under £100 or you can hire them... Solder isn't great, you will struggle to heat the cable up enough.

About that cage, as its come recommended I assume its a decent one, but someone else I know bought a similar one and the brackets for the door bars don't look particularly sturdy to me!

Are these decent cages? Or do you get the door bar welded in or something?

i think from peoples view that are well recommended,

but even though mine is bolt it, i'm having extra bars and most of it welded in anyhow :D:)

I would say that the OPM 10pt cage is one of the better cages for the 205, I have seen SD cages go through the floor in a roll.

Mine was a bit of a bugger to get in and had to bolt in the beam mounting part then use a bar to line up the seatbelt mounting bolts.

Getting back to your battery cable / crimping problem, I had the same issues as you I solved it by cutting all the cables to length and have a dry fit then take them to an electical wholesalers (trade) and I used some special very large crimping pliers for free.

The door bars are bolt in so you can remove them if need be. Once bolted in they are sturdy as hell! strength of the brackets depends very much on who welds them in!
